Collazzone is an Umbrian municipality, located in the province of Perugia, with about 4000 inhabitants. The town is enclosed in a circle of medieval walls and belonged to Perugia, although Todi claimed several times the possession. He died in Collazzone, in the convent of San Lorenzo, where he had retired and where he spent the last years of his life, Jacopone da Todi. The unique name derives from a mixture of hills, of obvious geographical significance, and Azzone, the name of Lombard origin of the lord of the town at the time of Ottone I.
